Going back to the well in 2012 (Genesis 26:18)

How to keep going through trials

Exodus 15:22-27, trials are a normal part of the Christian experience. James1:2-4 and 1Peter 4:12-13. How you respond is the important thing! In the Bible we are told how to respond when we face the trial of our faith.

Look to past victory for present help. Moses and the children of Israel could look back on God’s great deliverance out of Egypt to help them face their present test. Ex. 14-15

2.    See this as an opportunity to exercise faith. Here at the waters of Marah a great strengthening of faith could have taken place. This was a chance to trust God and watch Him work. Faith is a muscle that must be exercised!

3.     Seek the Lord in prayer. Exodus 15:25, Moses cried out to God and the Lord heard and answered his prayer. Prayer is mighty weapon against the trials of life. It sustains, strengthens and secures the believer when we are facing great trials and tests.

4.     Look for the blessings to come. Exodus 15:27, after the children of Israel had faced the test they were brought to the Oasis of Elim. Here God Let them rest and refreshed their spirits. We can look forward to the blessings that will come when we endure a trial or test. This is a principal you see repeated through out the Bible. First the test or trial and then the rest and refreshment. Acts 4:23 – 31, this will keep you going through the tough times Knowing the blessings will follow the trial.

When we respond correctly (Biblically) to our trials we see God make our trials a blessing allowing us to “…count it all joy” May the Lord help us to be more than conquerors through Him that loved us and gave Himself for us.
