Spiritual Casualties

A casualty is anyone who has been taken off the battle field. You do not have to be dead to be a casualty. We can sum up three ways of becoming a casualty.

      1-     Self inflicted wounds.

2-     Friendly fire (Own men mistakenly shooting at you).

3-     Enemy attacks.

We can have spiritual Casualties just as much as war casualties. We must be careful not to become a spiritual casualty. Faithful men can fail and Godly men can go badly. Let us look at how we can be taken off the battlefield.

  1. Self inflicted wounds: Sometimes the devil doesn’t even need to do anything. We do it to ourselves when we play with sin. It will damage you when you push God’s boundaries. Let’s not lower the standards of being a Christian by personally neglecting ourselves. When we neglect time with God, then we are setting ourselves up for failure.
  2. Friendly fire: This is to make a mistake about who the devil is. This is Christians turning on Christians! Hateful actions towards one another like saying things about or against our brothers or sisters and being to harsh in your criticism will create casualties against other Christians. The devil loves when this happens! Do not let him win. When you are living right, THEN do you become a threat to the devil.
  3. Enemy attacks: Do not make the mistake of thinking the devil will not try to attack you. He will. He will try in any way he can. Your surroundings, physically or mentally. This is to sideline you or to have you loose your testimony.

Keep from becoming a casualty!!!

  1. Stay in fellowship with God. Do not let little things build up so much that you are not right with God. Keep short accounts with the Lord. Galatians 5:16This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh”
  2. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Sometimes our difficulties seem impossible because we are not focused on Jesus.
  3. Stay in the Word! The Lords Words are your Words. Let it get in us. Psalm 119:105 “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path

Matthew 24:12 warns us that ungodliness will be present and that sin will abound “And because inquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold”.
