BLOOD REDEMPTION
What does REDEMPTION mean? The word redemption means to deliver upon payment of ransom or the payment of an obligation. To make things simple let's use an example. If you have a coupon for a free chocolate bar and bring this coupon to the corner store they will give you a chocolate bar in exchange for the coupon. So they are redeeming the coupon and in exchange giving you a chocolate bar.
When we talk about Blood redemption, Jesus was the payment (or coupon) and in exchange for this payment we receive salvation. But what was the payment? The payment was the shedding of His blood. The act of Jesus shedding all of His blood is the price that He paid for the forgiveness of our sins so that we could have salvation and with salvation one day enter in Heaven and be with the Lord.
Jesus was made a man. He was perfect and had no sin. He was tempted to sin like all of us but because he was God in the flesh he knew no sin. He is the only one who could have ever "purchased" our salvation. His pure blood is what gives us the salvation that we so very needs.
This event that took place is the single most important event ever recorded. Without this we would not have salvation and we would end up in a place called Hell forever. But not everyone will receive salvation, it is a choice. Let's look closely at this event so you will have an understanding of what "blood redemption" really means.
Mark 15:1-20 - Pilate could not find any fault in Jesus. As I said and the Bible records, He was perfect. Hebrews 4:15
Luke 23:32-46 when we talk about "Calvary" this is the actual place where Jesus died and was crucified. Jesus could have come down from the cross and saved himself from death. He chose not to. He was mocked for this. If you ask God to save you He will do it right away. You do not have to do anything else. You cannot work your way into salvation. The thief hanging on the cross could not do any good works but he asked God to remember him and Jesus answered and said "today shalt thou be with me in paradise."
Luke 24:1-9 Jesus had risen from the dead on the third day.
15-40 Jesus appeared to hem and showed them his hands and feet where the nails had been and they believed that it was him. He then went up to Heaven.
You may be thinking that Jesus was or is a victim and that he died because He had no other choice and that he is a martyr. His death was not an accident; it was the plan and purpose of God.
With the Blood Redemption we have the forgiveness of sins. Romans 10:9-11, 1 John 1:9, Ephesians 1:7
