Have you ever wondered how we got here? The Bible tells us God has always been here and always will be with us. God loved us so much He wanted to create a beautiful place for us to live so we could learn to love Him. God thought of everything. In fact, He spoke everything into existence. That’s right, He spoke it!
“For by Him were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him.” Col 1:16
The very first verse in the Bible says “In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth”. He just called it into existence from nothing.
“By the word of the LORD were the Heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.” Psa. 33:6
“For He spake and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.” Psa. 33:9
What an awesome God we serve. He just used the words from His mouth and it was so!
Day 1 – God created light and made day and night.
Day 2 – God created the atmosphere (Water vapour above the earth to protect us and give us air)
Day 3 – God made the oceans, dry land, trees, plants and food.
Day 4 – God created the starts, the sun & the moon. He stretched the the universe so far we could never see the end of it.
Day 5 – God created and brought to life all the fish and whales and everything that lives in the sea. He created and brought to life all the birds.
Day 6 – God created and brought to life all the land animals and reptiles and insects. To top it all off, God created the very first man and then the very first woman from the rib of the man. Adam and Eve.
Day 7 – God created the 7th day as a day of rest because he knew that we needed some rest from all our work. This is called the Sabbath day. (Gen 2:1)
God could have created all of this at a snap of His finger. But He didn’t. He intentionally took 7 days to give us what we call a week. God knew we would need a rest so He set the example for us by resting on the 7th day.
God did not need millions of years for evolution to take place. He is the great designer and author and the very I am that made everything and everyone possible.
